Eligible outstanding students have until March 10th to apply online for the 1,000 scholarships to be awarded by the Kerala State Higher Education Council for the year 2022-23.
The regular first year students who are pursuing study of science, social sciences, economics and humanities through full-time graduate courses in government/supported arts and science/colleges affiliated with Universities in Kerala are eligible to apply. Students at the University of Applied Sciences of the Institute for Personnel Development are also eligible to participate.
Students at vocational and self-financing universities do not have to apply.

50 percent of the total of 1,000 scholarships are awarded to applicants in the general category. The proportion of applicants from the Scheduled Caste/Tribe (SC/ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Below the Poverty Line (BPL) and Physically Handicapped categories is 10%, 27%, 10% and 3%, respectively.
The number of scholarships allocated to each university is determined based on the total number of seats approved in each stream.

The selected students will receive Rs 12,000, Rs 18,000 and Rs 24,000 respectively in each of the three years of their final course. Thereafter, upon graduation, these students are paid Rs 40,000 and Rs 60,000 respectively in the first and second years.
These amounts are subject to revision.
A person with at least 40 percent disability receives 25% more grant amount.
Those who continue to perform well in their studies receive scholarships during the three-year bachelor’s degree and for the two-year postgraduate course. The university council transfers the scholarships directly to the bank accounts of the students.
exclusions
Scholarships under the program will not be awarded to any student receiving any scholarship/scholarship other than the Tuition Reduction for a Degree, the Flat-Rate Scholarships for SC/ST Category Students and the Hindi Scholarship Approved by the College Education Director.
