12 anxious things about living in Jersey

There are many things to love about living in New Jersey, but that love comes with a price. Fear.

There is a movement that recommends that everyone under the age of 65 should be screened for anxiety symptoms.

They claim that screening for anxiety could help people put a name to the mental health problems they are dealing with. Problems that can lead to addiction.

Kevin Meara, founder of City Of Angels, which helps people fight addiction whether they have insurance or not, supports the idea, but it shouldn’t be done by the government

“I’m for it because mental health is probably further behind addiction as far as our country is treating it and being aware of it. We’ve seen doctors not trained in pain management and addiction, what happened, and how the opioid epidemic got out of hand. And mental health is out of control now.”

Careplus New Jersey, a mental health and addiction treatment group based in Bergen County, is here to help.

From the Dino Flamia article in New Jersey 101.5:

“We know that untreated anxiety can lead to impairments in life — problems with relationships, problems with a job,” said Sue Heguy, associate vice president of children and family services at CarePlus NJ.

I love the idea of screening for fear. I would love it even more if it included answers on how to deal with anxiety in New Jersey. Book it up to preventive medicine.

Unfortunately, we live in a state that is never at a loss to worry. So what are the things that scare us about living in New Jersey?
