Artificial intelligence (AI) is going through something of a “hot topic” right now, as applications like ChatGPT show the world how powerful and powerful it is becoming.
The emergence of this new breed of “generative” AI tools in recent months has made it clear that it is no longer just relevant to academic research or Silicon Valley’s tech giants.
Should now try Adobe Stock
And far from being just the latest “viral sensation”, AI has truly become a technology that any company or individual can use to revolutionize the way they work or their daily activities.
So what are the tools everyone should become familiar with to ensure they understand exactly what AI is capable of today? I’ve selected some of the most important ones to show how you can use them today.
First, what exactly is AI?
If you, like many people, have just started to become aware of AI after encountering one of the latest viral applications, you may be wondering how they relate to what we traditionally call “artificial intelligence”. describe.
Most people will have first encountered the term from science fiction, where for over 100 years we have been entertained with stories about intelligent robots – sometimes friendly, sometimes not so.
In reality, when we use the term AI today, we are usually referring to a technology known as “machine learning”. Rather than simulating every aspect of natural intelligence like robots in movies, this simply refers to adaptive software algorithms — which get better and better at performing a given task as they are exposed to more data.
Machine learning powers a wide range of revolutionary tools that have transformed the way we live – from finding information online with Google, to shopping on Amazon, to watching movies on Netflix or requesting a ride with Uber. Now, the latest breed of AI applications gives us the opportunity to use them for almost any task imaginable. So let’s look at some of them:
What are the “killer apps” everyone should know about?
ChatGPT
Let’s start with a quick recap of the viral sensation that is ChatGPT. It is a conversational interface for OpenAI’s GPT-3 large language model, which was recently made available to the public as a free research preview. In response to text prompts such as questions or instructions, it outputs text in any form, including prose, poetry, and even computer code.
Dall-E 2
Another OpenAI project that, along with ChatGPT, is responsible for kickstarting the current wave of consumer interest in generative AI. This takes text prompts and converts them into computer graphics (images, photos, drawings, paintings, etc.).
Stable diffusion 2
This is another generative AI application for text-to-image. Unlike Dall-E 2, its source code, as well as details on the training data and weights used by its algorithms, are publicly available and the application can be downloaded and installed on your own computer, rather than only being accessible via a proprietary cloud portal, such as it is the case with the OpenAI projects.
