A 14-year-old man armed with a handgun — along with a similarly armed adult — punched a victim in the back of the head during a stoner session in Jonesboro, Ga., earlier this month and made off with the victim’s cellphone, police said of Clayton District said.

The officers then immediately used the “Find My iPhone” app to track down the suspected perpetrators.

The attack took place around 3:00 p.m. on Jan. 7 in the 6700 block of Tara Boulevard, police said, adding that investigators beamed the armed suspect’s new location using the app.

As it turned out, the two were in the Jesters Lake Drive and North Main Street area, police said. That’s about two miles south of the crime scene.

The 14-year-old suspect – police did not name him because of his age and did not show a photo of him – complied with all orders and was immediately taken into custody without incident, police said, adding that they had found a Google Pixel Telephone and a 9mm pistol in the underwear of youth. Police said the phone and gun were stolen in another incident.

The 14-year-old was charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime and possession of a pistol by a person under the age of 18, police said.

The adult suspect – identified as Chase Phillips, 21 – attempted to flee on foot, but police said they caught him after a brief pursuit on foot.

Phillips was carrying a silver/black Bryco Arms pistol and was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, involvement in the crime of a minor, violating the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, obstructing an officer, drug-related items and pedestrians in the lane police with.

Two firearms, two cellphones, marijuana, extra magazines, ammunition and a digital scale were confiscated from both suspects, police said.

The victim of the attack was being treated for an injury to the back of his head, police officials added.
