On November 3, 2022, Alinsco Managing General Agency, Inc. filed an official notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Texas following a data security incident that compromised sensitive consumer information held by the company. The information available regarding Alinsco Insurance’s breach comes from the company’s filing with the Texas Attorney General and a notice posted on Alinsco Insurance’s website. According to these sources, on August 24, 2022, Alinsco Insurance discovered unusual activity in one of the company’s web applications. In response, the company, with the support of an outside data security firm, launched an internal investigation in hopes of learning more about the incident and what consumer information, if any, was compromised.

The company’s investigation confirmed that the unauthorized party was able to access the web application as well as the consumer information contained in the application.
