Apple has released its new iOS 16.4 beta software build for developers. The new software version of iOS 16.4 will bring many new features to iPhone
Two weeks after the release of the first iOS 16.4 beta, Apple unveiled the second iOS 16.4 beta for developers, along with subsequent betas of iPadOS 16.4, macOS Ventura 13.3, tvOS 16.4, and watchOS 9.4. In this article we are going to talk about all the new features introduced in Apple’s operating systems, specifically in the new update for the iPhone.
The first beta version of iOS 16.4 brought many new features to the iPhone, including a selection of new emojis, push notifications for web apps, extensive Mastodon Link previews and a new HomeKit architecture. Below we dictate all the news related to iOS 16.4 Beta 2.
iOS 16.4 beta 2: all the news and changes for your iPhone
In addition to the new features implemented in the first iOS 16.4 beta, this new iteration of the software includes some very interesting improvements that are worth mentioning.
Books
The Books or Apple Books application has received a slight overhaul with this iOS 16.4 beta. Apple has brought back the popular page turning animation in this update. This effect simulates turning a page in a physical book in the Books app and was removed with the launch of iOS 16. Apple Books preferences now include three options: Slide, Curl, and None.

5G SA connection
5G: The network that is becoming increasingly popular with more tariffs and compatible mobile phones
The first iOS 16.4 beta included support for 5G SA (Stand Alone) for the first time in iPhone history. However, this functionality was exclusive to operator T-Mobile in the United States. Now 5G SA will also be available on other operators such as Vivo, TIM and Softbank in Brazil and Japan.
This type of 5G connectivity uses special devices that make it possible to achieve much higher connection speeds, up to 3 Gbps.
AppleCare

9to5mac reports that the second beta of iOS 16.4 for iPhone has also integrated the Apple device icons into the Apple Care section of the iOS Settings app.
Apple Music Classic
iOS 16.4 Beta 2 internal code contains references to Apple Music Classical
The internal code of iOS 16.3 hinted at the possible appearance of a classical music application in Apple Music. But in the end it wasn’t like that. However, there is a very interesting fact from the second iOS 16.4 beta that once again gives us clues about Apple Music Classical. The new iOS update includes a mention for classical music that reads, “To hear Apple Music Classical, you must install Apple Music.”
It looks like Apple is still polishing the final details of this mysterious application ahead of its expected release. It’s been two years since Apple acquired startup Primephonic and started developing its application for listening to classical music – although it could also be a new section of Apple Music. For now, we’ll have to keep waiting, but iOS 16.4 could be the update chosen to debut on iPhone.

podcast

The Podcasts application has integrated a new introductory view for the news that iOS 16.4 will include in it. As stated in MacRumors, that splash screen includes details like Podcasts app support for channels in the library, an enhancement with search and syncing with the CarPlay system, and a new feature that lets you resume episodes and skip what you do ‘I don’t want to hear it.
Finally, iOS 16.4 will also introduce support for Apple Pay in regions like South Korea and other new features we’ve covered previously, like Mastodon’s rich link thumbnail preview in messages, web app push notifications, and a selection of 21 new ones emoji
