Los Angeles: After Angelina Jolie’s legal team claimed her ex-husband Brad Pitt ‘choked’ her child and ‘punched someone else in the face’, Pitt has issued a new statement. According to Page Six, the actor’s attorney said Brad “will not own anything he hasn’t done.”
According to Anne Kiley, Pitt’s attorney, “Brad owned everything he was responsible for from day one — unlike the other side,” she told Page Six on Thursday. “He will not own anything that he has not done.” the statement continued. “He was on the receiving end of all kinds of personal attacks and misrepresentations.”
“Fortunately, the various authorities that the other side have tried to use against him over the past six years have made their own independent decisions. Brad will continue to respond in court as he always has,” Kelly added.
Two days ago, Angelina Jolie filed a countersuit against Brad Pitt. According to Variety, Jolie’s legal team in the counterclaim provides new information about an alleged altercation between Pitt, Jolie, and their children on board a plane in September 2016. Jolie sold her stake in Chateau Miraval without telling him, and Pitt subsequently sued her. claimed she violated his “contractual rights”.
Variety reports that Jolie’s attorneys in the counterclaim allege that negotiations with Pitt’s team to sell her stake in the company ended when Pitt insisted that she “sign a non-disclosure agreement that would have contractually barred her from speaking out of court.” to discuss Pitt’s share of physical and emotional abuse of her and her children.”
The counterclaim alleges that during the 2016 confrontation, Pitt “choked one of the children and punched another in the face” and “grabbed Jolie’s head and shook her.”
According to Jolie’s attorney, Pitt accused her of being “too respectful” of her children, which sparked the argument. The two began arguing in the airplane lavatory. “Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pinning her against the bathroom wall,” the countersuit reads.
“Pitt then slammed the ceiling of the plane several times, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom.” According to Variety, the counter-suspect alleges that Pitt attempted to physically assault the child after one of her children defended Jolie. The children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him,” the counterclaim said.
In order to lift Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the plane’s seats, injuring Jolie’s back and elbow. The children rushed in, all trying valiantly to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and punched another in the face. Some of the children begged Pitt to stop. They were all afraid. Many cried.”
Variety further reported – Jolie then “arranged separate transportation at the airport” to take her and the children to a hotel without Pitt, the lawsuit continues. “Then she went to wake Pitt up and told him that she and the kids were going to a hotel. Pitt yelled at her again and pinned her to the ground again.”
According to Variety’s August report, Jolie was the driving force behind a 2016 lawsuit in which the plaintiff alleged that her “then husband” raped her on a private plane. An FBI agent was contacted by the actress after she claimed that Pitt “physically and verbally assaulted her and her children,” and the agent later met with the US Assistant Attorney.
After the agent said they would not press charges, Jolie secretly sued the FBI under the Freedom of Information Act to gain access to records related to the federal investigation into Pitt.
According to Jolie’s attorney, the FBI agent investigating the allegations “concluded that the government had probable cause to charge Pitt with a federal felony for his conduct that day.” This is found in the current counterindictment.
