Apple’s flagship is a bit shorter but noticeably wider than the Xiaomi 13 Pro. It’s also a bit thinner in comparison. It weighs 240 grams while the Xiaomi 13 Pro weighs 229 grams (ceramic model). We refer to the ceramic model in this comparison as this is the only variant that has been introduced worldwide. The iPhone 14 Pro Max has uniform bezels and a pill-shaped cutout on the front. The Xiaomi 13 Pro has extremely thin bezels and a centered hole for the display camera.

If we turn the two phones over, you can see clearly different designs on the back. Both have display camera islands in the top left corner, but they look quite different. However, both phones have three cameras on the back. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is a bit more cumbersome to use with one hand due to its width and the fact that it cuts into the hand due to its flat bottom and weight. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is also not easy to use with one hand since it is also quite large. Both phones are quite slippery, so using a case is recommended.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max vs Xiaomi 13 Pro: Performance

The iPhone 14 Pro Max is powered by the Apple A16 Bionic SoC. This is Apple’s flagship 4nm processor. The phone also comes with 6GB of RAM and NVMe storage. The Xiaomi 13 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, the best processor Qualcomm has to offer. The phone is equipped with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. What does this mean for regular daily performance. This means you’re basically getting an immensely smooth phone no matter what you’re doing. Getting them to slow down is no easy task. You glide through surfing, consuming multimedia, image editing, messaging and much more. Gaming isn’t a problem for either phone either, which is to be expected. Even the most powerful games out there run very well on both smartphones. They get warm during intense gaming sessions, but we didn’t notice any performance drops or anything like that.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max vs Xiaomi 13 Pro: Battery

Apple’s flagship comes with a 4,323mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a 4,820mAh battery. Note that iOS devices usually come with smaller batteries, but that doesn’t mean they offer worse battery life. But what is the case here? Well, both smartphones offer great battery life, but the iPhone 14 Pro Max comes out on top. In fact, Apple has improved its battery life since its inception.

It’s doable to get 8 hours of screen time on both phones, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max typically lasts a bit longer. However, the Xiaomi 13 Pro sometimes fell below this mark for us. Your mileage will of course vary, perhaps significantly. Your installed apps will be different, as will your usage and signal where you live. There are just too many factors. The point is that both phones offer really good battery life.

When it comes to charging, the Xiaomi 13 Pro outshines the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Not only does it come with a 120W charger in the box, but it also supports 120W wired charging. The Xiaomi 13 Pro, on the other hand, is equipped with a 50.3-megapixel main camera (1-inch sensor), a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (115-degree FoV) and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera (3.2- x optical zoom) equipped ). Xiaomi’s flagship also has Leica lenses on all three cameras.

So how do they compare? Well, the two take great photos, but completely different ones. The iPhone 14 Pro Max tries to keep things closer to real life in terms of looks. The Xiaomi 13 Pro has that Leica picture style and two shooting styles to choose from. It offers Leica Vibrant and Leica Authentic modes. Most people will prefer the Leica Vibrant as the colors are emphasized a bit more.

Both deliver really detailed photos, although the ones from the Xiaomi 13 Pro look a bit moodier for lack of a better word. This is especially true for low-light images. The natural, creamy bokeh also makes them look more like they were shot with professional cameras. Dynamic range is good on both, but both struggle with white balance at times. However, it could be fixed via an update soon. Both do a great job at macro photography, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro shines at portrait shots with the telephoto camera.

Both phones do a good job when it comes to ultrawide shots, and they keep the color science close to what the main cameras offer. Video recording is better on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but the Xiaomi 13 Pro does a great job too. It’s all a matter of preference with these cameras, both phones do an excellent job.

Audio

Both smartphones have a pair of stereo speakers. These speakers are very good on both phones. They’re more than loud enough, and they’re detailed too. The distortion is not exactly perceptible.

However, there is no audio jack on either phone. You need to use the Type-C connector, which is located on the bottom of both phones. However, if you prefer a wireless connection, Bluetooth 5.3 is available on both devices.
