If you’re using a Coast Guard iPhone or iPad, make sure it’s enrolled with the MDM (Enterprise Mobile Device Management) solution by June 30, or you’ll be disconnected from your cellular service.
The MDM solution allows Coast Guard mobile device users to access critical information and systems without compromising security.
The notice applies to two categories of users.
Unmanaged, individually assigned iOS devices: Customers with these devices must enroll in DoD365 Mobile+ via Microsoft Intune. By integrating an Intune MDM profile, the mobile possibilities will increase significantly. For example, users get the full suite of mobile productivity apps previously unavailable to them on their device (e.g., Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
Unmanaged shared iOS devices: Devices in this category may change hands frequently. These devices must be enrolled in Microsoft Intune MDM as a “Frontline” device. DoD365 Mobile+ is not installed on these devices. However, they retain the previous functionality as well as some additional tools.
Here’s how you can take action:
Commands: Please ensure your unit has a specific CRM and that it is receiving guidance from the C5I Service Center Cellular Wireless Management Service (CWMS) team. The CWMS team can be reached via email at: [email protected]. Ultimately, everyone in your unit who has a mobile device must confirm that their devices are properly registered. CRMs: You must confirm that each mobile device in your AOR is enrolled in the Intelligent Telecommunications Management System (ITMS) and enrolled in Microsoft Intune. A named administrator must be entered in the ITMS for shared devices. For more information, see here or the USCG DoD365 Mobile+ Self-Service Portal. Device Managers: You must promptly respond to all direct communications from the CWMS team and follow any instructions provided. Even if you are no longer the manager of the offending device, you still need to respond to the CWMS team’s request.
iOS mobile device users: If you have not yet enrolled in Microsoft Intune, please act now by completing this short form here. You will receive instructions on how to complete the self-registration process. You must follow all instructions as soon as you receive them to avoid loss of cellular service.
