Around 59100 students secure admission to Delhi University Colleges in the first round of seat allocation

Some 59,100 candidates have paid fees and secured admission to various undergraduate courses in the first round of seat allocations at Delhi University, Chancellor Vikas Gupta said on Tuesday. Tuesday was the last day for the payment of fees by those who accepted the college and their assigned course.

“Of the 72,800 students who accepted the college and course, approximately 59,100 have sealed their admission by paying fees,” Gupta said. Gupta said the vacancies will be displayed on Wednesday. After that, the university will open a two-day window starting Wednesday for those who have received admission to undergraduate programs to upgrade to their higher “program + college combo” preference. “It is important to note that a candidate receiving an upgrade must ‘accept’ the upgraded seat and complete the admission procedures for the upgraded assigned seats within the specified timeframe,” Gupta said in a statement based on seat availability, the university will declare the second round of the Central Seat Allocation System (CSAS Round-II) on Oct. 30, he said.

“For the second round of allocations, candidates should accept the assigned seat from Monday, October 31, 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, November 1, 4:59 p.m.,” he added. According to the detailed schedule released by the university earlier this month, colleges will review and approve the online application from October 31 to November 2. The deadline for candidates to pay their admission fees online is November 3rd. For the third round, the list of vacancies will be posted on November 4th. During the third round, the University is giving an opportunity for a middle entry and a window to backorder higher preferences from November 5th to 7th. According to the schedule, the third allocation list will be announced on 11/10.

Candidates must accept the allocated space by November 13th. The College will review and approve online applications November 11-14. The university will announce the first round of allocation for free places by November 17th. The university may announce additional rounds of points subject to the availability of vacancies, the statement said.

Delhi University admits to 79 undergraduate programs in 67 colleges, departments and centers for the first time based on the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Until last year, admissions were via grade 12 grade merit rolls, where cut-offs skyrocketed. In the past, the university announced up to seven cut-off lists each year.
