Beautiful in-game screenshots of Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake show enemies, crocodiles and more

Konami has released a series of in-game screenshots showing how good Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, looks. For months there have been leaks and rumors about a possible Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, which was finally confirmed in the PlayStation Showcase with an exciting CG trailer.

While the CG trailer for the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake still caused quite a stir, some fans would understandably prefer to see in-game footage. There are no in-game videos for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater to watch yet, but Konami has released a series of screenshots that hopefully can reassure Metal Gear Solid fans in the meantime.

The screenshots are said to be from a game in progress, but if the final product looks anything like this, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will likely be the best looking MGS game yet. The Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake screenshots show the harsh jungle environments that Naked Snake has to traverse in the game, as well as some areas patrolled by guards. Fans can also see a suspension bridge hanging dangerously over a chasm and a fearsome crocodile.

Wildlife and the jungle environment played a key role in the original Metal Gear Solid 3, so it makes sense that they’ll be a focus in the remake as well. Details on how exactly Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will evolve the gameplay from the original MGS 3 aren’t available at the time of writing, but more information should come to light in the coming months.

Someone who doesn’t appear on any of the screenshots is Naked Snake himself, so it remains to be seen what his in-game model looks like in the remake. However, it has been said that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will bring back the original cast, meaning David Hayter will be reprising his role as Snake.

Fans who can’t wait for the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake will have a chance to revisit the original game later this fall. Konami announced Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 alongside the MGS 3 Remake, with the collection bringing together five Metal Gear games. This includes the HD version of the original game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, so Metal Gear fans have something to look forward to.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is in development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
