SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University announces the launch of four new graduate programs to equip students and professionals with the knowledge, skills and advanced credentials to thrive in the global, data-driven digital economy. New STEM-designated personal master’s programs in Business Analytics, Data Science and Healthcare Informatics are enrolling for Fall 2023. The Master in Taxation is offered online and is also planned for next fall.

As business needs change and industry boundaries blur, Bryant is committed to developing interdisciplinary academic programs and curricula that integrate them Business, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, finance and health sciences to meet the needs of the workforce.
These new programs offer students the opportunity to create pathways to career-accelerating college degrees. Professionals at all levels – from entry-level to C-level managers – can hone their skills and advance in their careers. All programs are available to students and professionals around the world, and several programs offer “4+1” options for Bryant students.

Business Analytics, Data Science and Taxation will join other successful programs offered by the College of Business including MBA, Professional MBA Online and Master of Professional Accounting (MPAC). Healthcare Informatics is offered by the newly established School of Health and Behavioral Sciences, which follows on from the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) that was introduced in 2014. Additional graduate programs offered by the College of Arts and Sciences will be announced this fall.
More about the new programs
The Master of Science in Business Analytics prepares future leaders to employ advanced analytics in support of organizational goals and strategy, and to use analytics to tell compelling stories that impact business strategy. Working with state-of-the-art business analytics tools and techniques, students will learn the entire process of the data analytics life cycle of business understanding, data preparation, data exploration, model building, and data visualization and communication. The MSBA is a full-time, personal cohort program that consists of eight mandatory business analytics courses and a three-course specialization or generalist course that tailors electives to individual personal and professional needs.
Building on Bryant University’s strengths in undergraduate business and data science, the MSDS program is applied with a foundation in business and helps train the next generation of data scientists to work in diverse fields. Core courses in the program include data ethics, statistics, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, large-scale data analysis, and more. The MSDS program is a full-time personal cohort program and will run through the fall, spring, and summer sessions. Students complete eight mandatory data science courses and choose a three-course specialization or generalist track that tailors electives to individual personal and professional needs.
Health informatics is an interdisciplinary field of study in the health industry that uses information technology to organize and analyze health data and records to improve health care outcomes. Bryant’s program provides a holistic understanding of the healthcare system and emphasizes the need for collaboration to improve healthcare and patient outcomes. Graduates of the program will have knowledge of the healthcare industry and technology solutions, as well as the technical skills needed to effectively analyze complex healthcare data, manage evolving healthcare information systems, and support the increased use of electronic health records. The 10-course, 30-credit personal program can be completed in 18 months or 12 months with tuition in winter and summer sessions.
Bryant’s Master of Science in Taxation, offered online, prepares graduates to advance or start their professional careers in accounting with a focus on tax. The acquisition of a sound knowledge of taxation enables graduates to understand the nuances of complex tax issues in terms of theory and practical application for individuals, partnerships and corporations. The MST program will integrate data analysis and visualization with machine learning technology to ensure graduates are well-equipped to best serve their organizations and customers. Graduates will be prepared to advise on pension and compensation plans and manage estate planning. The 10-course, 31-credit online program is offered in 10-week increments, with exact start times to be announced shortly.
