CINCINNATI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In recent years, the role of school inspectorate has been more important than ever. To recognize their hard work and dedication, Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) is launching its 10thth annual Cintas Custodian of the Year competition, which honors outstanding school administrators. Submit your nominations at custodianoftheyear.com by February 17th.
“Caregivers have a huge responsibility to provide a clean and healthy space for students, faculty and staff,” said Christiny Betsch, Marketing Manager, Cintas. “Over the past nine years, we’ve heard incredible stories from stewards who have gone above and beyond, and look forward to continuing to honor stewards in this tenth year of the competition.”
Cintas will award $10,000 to the winning administrator and $5,000 in Cintas and Rubbermaid products and services to the winner’s school. In addition, the winning school will receive a $30,000 facility assessment and advisory package from ISSA, The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association, and enrollment in the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) online foundation course. The nine finalists who round out the top 10 will each receive $1,000 on behalf of Cintas, a Rubbermaid cleaning supplies kit and free tuition for a $1,500 ISSA Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) virtual training event. New this year in November, the top 3 finalists will receive a trip for two to the ISSA Show North America in Las Vegas, where they will be celebrated for their achievements.
“Despite working long hours, caregivers continue to show up for their students, faculty and others in their communities,” said John Barrett, Executive Director, ISSA. “ISSA has been impressed with their dedication and we are proud to partner with Cintas to celebrate the best trustees in the United States.”
Last year, Cintas Corporation honored Lydell Henderson of Presidential Park Elementary School in Middletown, NY as the 2022 Cintas Custodian of the Year. To celebrate Mr. Henderson, over 1,500 students and staff, in addition to his family, honored him with a surprise ceremony, complete with countless handmade student signs and endless cheers and high-fives.
The Cintas Custodian of the Year competition is open to all elementary, middle, high school, college and university custodians who have worked at their school for at least two years. Nominations must be no more than 500 words about why the nominee deserves the award and must be submitted by February 17th. Cintas will announce the top 10 finalists on March 14. Most votes will be crowned Custodian of the Year at the end of April.
Robert Posthauer, Rubbermaid Commercial Products senior vice president of sales and marketing, added, “Supervisors are those who work behind the scenes to ensure that school facilities provide welcoming learning environments. Without them, schools, universities and colleges could not function properly. We look forward to working with Cintas again when they celebrate the 10thth Administrator of the Year Awards for Esteemed School Administrators.”
