As soon as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reiterated his belief in destroying the mafia nexus in the state while addressing the gathering on Saturday, enthusiasm spread among his supporters across the country, and three hashtags promoting the CM’s campaign against the mafia supported were trending on Twitter, he declared an official release.

“#’Yogi Means Governance’, ‘#Yogi Adityanath’ and #Yogi Surgical Strike started trending on Twitter at the same time.
The opposition parties tried to corner the Yogi Adityanath government over the murder of Umesh Pal, the key witness in the Rajupal murder case, allegedly by the henchmen of the SP-backed mafia Don Atique Ahmed in Prayagraj, but in vain CM Yogi backed their claims with facts and left them with no answer.

In a scathing attack on the Samajwadi party, the CM blamed them for promoting and patronizing criminals and the mafia in the state.

He said: “The Samajwadi party has not only glorified the mafia during its tenure, but also crowned it.”
He said that the mafia involved in the Prayagraj incident enjoyed power under the auspices of Atique Ahmed of SP and that the party had no moral right to blame the current government.
The Chief Minister also assured the House of Representatives that the government would do everything in its power to crush the mafia.
