Following today’s gameplay leak, Activision has announced when you can get started with Crash and his team in Crash Team Rumble – and how to play ahead of launch.
Toys For Bob’s upcoming MOBA will be released on June 20th on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S (with cross-play support).
If you’re interested, you can pre-order the game starting today (March 21). Those who do will also be invited to participate in the Crash Team Rumble Closed Beta, which runs April 20-24.
Crash Team Rumble unveils trailer.
The standard edition of Crash Team Rumble costs $29.99 (no word on UK pricing yet) and includes seasonal events and limited-time modes, as well as a Premium Battle Pass unlock for Season 1.
The Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, costs $39.99 and includes the above, plus a Premium Battle Pass unlock for Season 2, the digital “Proto Pack” (with skins and a unique banner), and a 25 Tier -Instant unlock pass for Season 1 Premium Battle.
Those who join the Crash Team Rumble closed beta have five heroes to play with – Crash, Coco, Dingodile, Dr. Neo Cortex and Tawna. As previously announced by Activision, each of Crash’s friends (and foes) will have their “own distinctive power, personality and playstyle” for you to explore, with three different hero roles to try out. These are scorers, blockers and boosters.
The scorer’s main task is to collect wumpa and score for his team’s wumpa bank. A blocker, on the other hand, wants to defend the banks, so they must be “ready to rumble with enemies to take out their wumpa and stop them from scoring.” Finally, the Boosters will be out there capturing gems, with their primary purpose of increasing their team’s Wumpa score and “activating relic stations to give their team an advantage”.
There are also three maps to brawl and dare I say crash throughout this closed beta in search of the most wumpa fruit for your team, along with new powers to try.
“We’re incredibly excited for fans to be able to get their hands on Crash Team Rumble early during the closed beta in April,” said Paul Yan, Co-Studio Head at Toys For Bob. “We really value the feedback from the community and will use that feedback to optimize the game for an amazing gameplay experience on release day. See you in the closed beta!”
So are you loco for coco? Are you flattering Tawna? Or are you hoping to spend a while with Dingodile?
