SOUTHERN PINES, NC (NOVEMBER 8, 2022) – The Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced the launch of the first-of-its-kind virtual tour for the Pinehurst area, utilizing SkyNav’s advanced virtual and enhanced technology. Visitors and event planners can now experience the Home of American Golf with high-resolution panoramic images that create a 360-degree world with 3D objects, interactive text and image galleries, video integrations, and augmented reality.
SKYNAV’s exclusive sky-to-ground technology is designed to engage viewers, improve click-through rates and skyrocket ROI for their customers, in this case visitors and events coming to the Pinehurst area to drive. Sights on the tour include Pinehurst Resort, Pinehurst Village, Downtown Southern Pines, Downtown Aberdeen, Carthage and dozens of other locations. The SkyNav™ 3D tour consists of six 360° aerial panoramas and 21 ground-level panoramas covering selected areas of interest in Moore County. The tour utilizes the latest developments in interactivity with more than 40 information beacons strategically placed throughout the tour. This 3D technology allows visitors to either ‘fly’ or walk ‘close to the ground’ to explore an area and be fully immersed via one of the CVB’s many videos and hotspots, view feature galleries or click to partner websites. Users can also share the tour via social channels and email, view areas via Google Maps and follow CVB social media channels.
