Southern California Legal community leader brings extensive white collar and cybersecurity experience
LOS ANGELES, October 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Cannon’s Jennie Wang has joined Crowell & Moring, expanding the firm’s services to clients in commercial and legal defense matters, investigations, cyber and data protection incidents, and commercial civil litigation.

VonCannon joins the firm’s White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement and Privacy & Cybersecurity groups as a partner los Angeles. She is a leader in los Angeles Legal community who serves as Chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Privacy and Cybersecurity Division and on the Executive Committee of the Women Lawyers Association of los Angeles. VonCannon is also a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association and a past board member of the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association.
In late 2021, VonCannon played a key role in a trial team that obtained a full acquittal for a physician indicted by the US Attorney for the Central District California with 33 counts of healthcare fraud stemming from an alleged scheme linked to his employment at a bariatric surgery company. She is also an experienced commercial and complex commercial litigator who has led internal investigations into allegations of sexual misconduct on behalf of corporations and advised clients on cybersecurity issues – including ransomware attacks and insider cyber threats.
Prior to her position as Secretary of Defense, VonCannon served more than a decade as a federal prosecutor with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of Washington California. During her tenure there, she was appointed deputy chief of the Cybercrime and Intellectual Property Unit of the National Security Division and served on the Electronic Crime Task Force. VonCannon also oversaw a team of computer hacking and intellectual property prosecutors. Her investigative, prosecuting and supervisory record included cybercrimes, as well as matters related to trade secret theft, hacking, cyberstalking, copyright infringement and counterfeit goods. In 2015, she assisted the FBI’s command post in responding to the San Bernardino terrorist attack.

VonCannon received both her law and bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to being a Certified Information Privacy Professional, she is also a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
