Dematic has announced a partnership to transform the supply chain industry through accelerated cloud innovation. Dematic aims to strengthen supply chain resilience and provide go-to-market solutions by combining Dematic’s supply chain expertise with the cutting-edge technologies of Google Cloud, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
The partners will join forces to leverage shared insights to drive rapid cloud innovation. By migrating Dematic’s offerings to the cloud and adopting AI and ML, Dematic will improve supply chain execution for customers.
“This partnership is a continuation of our invaluable collaboration with the Google Cloud team, whose keen interest in helping us build and test the next generation of warehouse management solutions makes this alliance a perfect fit for our growth strategy. Through this partnership, we are helping our customers grow their position in the industry,” said Dee Cusack, Chief Technology Officer, Dematic.
“We appreciate Google Cloud’s drive for innovation and commitment to rethinking our customer solutions as we make our own transition to the cloud. We look forward to starting the next chapter of our business together.”
The partnership will enable Dematic to develop and deploy a range of solutions including e-commerce, omnichannel fulfillment and control tower applications for key vertical markets including general merchandise, grocery, apparel and food & beverage.
“Google Cloud is committed to helping organizations across the supply chain meet the rapidly evolving needs and expectations of customers, suppliers and fulfillment centers with cloud technology,” said Kirsten Kliphouse, president of Google Cloud for North America.
“We are excited to partner with Dematic to offer customers innovative solutions and technologies that help them rapidly navigate changes across the industry and support their digital transformation goals.”
With Google Cloud, Dematic customers can create a more sustainable supply chain by using data to understand operational, planning, labor and inventory efficiencies.
“Today, our customers experience more complex supply chains than ever before. We have the demands of e-commerce which are quite challenging and along with that we have port shortages and closures, labor shortages and all the while consumers like us are demanding their goods faster than ever. So what a few years ago was ok in a few weeks, we now want same day and sometimes within an hour or two. All of this places extreme demands on the supply chain,” says Cusack.
“By digitizing the supply chain and going to the cloud, we can bring the technology to a place where we can make the supply chain much more resilient than ever. With a modular set of microservices that combine the power of Google’s cloud platform and its AI and ML technologies, we will assemble a very resilient solution for all of our customers facing these challenges.”
