A group of CCS Transportation Design students participated in a two-week program and were tasked with imagining what a future car show in the metaverse might be like. In addition to exploring cutting-edge technology, students also benefit from the inherent purity offered by design in this program. “I think this collaboration is a really interesting challenge that gives us a canvas to show raw design fundamentals,” says student Matthew Craddock.

The Metaverse Concept Car Showroom offers an addition to an in-person auto show experience or simply a way to reach out to people who are unable to attend. It explores how the future of the auto show in the metaverse could give people the opportunity to build their own vehicles, experience the thrill of driving their dream car, explore the production process, and more.

“The 2022 Detroit Auto Show has been completely reimagined and we’ve added elements to the show that embrace future mobility. So welcoming Meta and CCS to the show is a natural fit as they embrace the way future vehicles will be designed and demonstrated,” said Rod Alberts, executive director of the Detroit Auto Show. “We look forward to seeing what the future mobility leaders have in common.”
