Schools and colleges in particular are encouraged to book group visits and open their students’ eyes to the opportunities in the industry, which include a diverse range of apprenticeships. New locations will continue to be added in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on the Open Doors website to find the latest projects near you.

Open Doors, run by Build UK in conjunction with a range of partners, aims to change perceptions of construction and encourage the next generation to explore opportunities across the industry, with a particular focus on industry advancements towards flexible working and helping the UK achieve net zero carbon.

Suzannah Nichol MBE, Chief Executive of Build UK said: “People often look at the construction sector and think it’s only for one type of person, but for everyone and Open Doors is a fantastic way to see that. There’s nothing better than being there and seeing the industry in action. So see what’s happening near you, book your visit today and find out where a career in construction could take you!”
