Dubai Chamber launches new training academy to immerse digital startups in metaverse

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of three chambers operating under Dubai Chambers, has partnered with SEE Institute to launch the Future of the Digital Economy: Business in the Metaverse Academy, the first dedicated training program of its kind designed to equip digital startups with the practical knowledge and tools they need to build into the metaverse and use Web3 to their advantage.

A total of 30 companies from Dubai and other markets will be selected to participate in the training academy, which will use Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Extended Reality (XR) technologies to help participants understand the dynamics of the business experienced and understood in the Metaverse, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

During the training, participants will go through four sessions covering the core principles of Web3, its history and roots, and case studies of successful and failed Web3 business strategies. In addition, the sessions will explore the value of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as a new way of communicating between brands and customers and how to manage the expectations of different blockchains.

Upon completion of the program, participants will benefit from mentoring support in Dubai and gain access to a free sustainable co-working space. They will also have the opportunity to share their success stories with an audience at the biggest Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy events in 2023.

Khalid Al Jarwan, Executive Director of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, said that the training academy is in line with the chamber’s strategy of supporting the growth of the digital economy sector, attracting high-potential digital companies to Dubai and positioning the emirate as a favourite digital enterprise to consolidate economic center.

Al Jarwan emphasized the importance of meeting the changing needs of business in Dubai, especially given the rapid pace at which advanced technologies are transforming the business world.

He urged businesses in Dubai to keep up to date with new developments related to Web3 and the Metaverse and to learn how to use these channels to grow their business and connect with potential customers.

The idea of ​​a hybrid world is reality and has triggered the transformation of our digital economy.”

Eligible digital startups have until October 31, 2022 to apply for the training program, which runs December 5-14, 2022.
