Ericsson renews its operations partnership with Telenor

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) announced today that it has extended its global operational services and software framework agreement with Telenor until October 2024.

The original agreement, signed in 2017, aimed to create a common deployment center (CDC) for multiple services such as network operations (including advanced network operations center automation), network design, planning and optimization, first-level operations and intelligent field service, project Management and network implementation services. As part of the renewal, Ericsson will also supply its cognitive software for planning and tuning. Framework agreement supports partnerships between Ericsson and Telenor Malaysia (digi) and Thailand (dtac)

Telenor and Ericsson have previously jointly received an industry award for CDC achievement.

Rita Mobkel, Head of Global Customer Unit Telenor at Ericsson, explains: “Ericsson has helped differentiate Telenor to its customers in a sustainable way by improving performance in several dimensions, moving from network-centric operations to user experience-centric operations and automation and artificial intelligence intelligence while striving for continuous improvement and leveraging the capabilities of Ericsson Operations Engine for further excellence.”

The Ericsson Operations Engine, an AI-powered, data-driven approach to network-managed services, has enabled Telenor to ensure next-generation connectivity, enabling its customers to benefit from secure and reliable network performance as well as an enhanced user experience.

Pradeep Kotnala, Head of Network Operations and Managed Services, Ericsson Southeast Asia, Oceania and India states: “Ericsson’s industry-leading suite of cognitive software solutions offers a unique integration of network design and optimization domain knowledge with advanced AI technologies to truly unleash the full potential of Exploit next-generation networks.”

Telenor and Ericsson continue to work together to explore customer-centric services in areas such as private network and cloud-based services that can leverage the experience and evolving capabilities of the Common Delivery Center.
