Fancy free apps for Android & iOS?

With less than a week to go before the end of 2022, most of us would be very excited to start planning for the new year and the celebrations that come with it. While most of you might be on vacation, we at NextPit keep working and bring you a selection of free apps and games from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. These apps usually come with a price tag, but are free to install for a limited time. Won’t it be great to play some games that don’t cost you anything as you ring in the new year?

This list of free apps is updated twice a week. However, the usual caveat applies: these apps are available for free at the time of publication, but by the time you’re reading this article or actually trying out the listed apps, they may have reverted to their paid status. While Google Play Store promotions for apps are relatively easy to find, things get more complicated with the Apple App Store as promotions have no specific timeframe for duration and can disappear in the blink of an eye.

Quick tip: Whenever you come across an interesting app or game in our list but don’t have a use for it yet or your device just has way too much memory, you can install the app for now. After that, you can delete the newly installed app from your device as it would have already become part of your app library. This allows you to install it as needed in the future. This is a reliable method to take full advantage of a short-lived promotion.

Android productivity/lifestyle apps temporarily available for free on the Google Play Store

  • multiplication tables ($2.99): Math is not your forte? Maybe this app can help you.
  • 500X Game Boosters ($3.99): This app advertises to increase the gaming performance of your smartphone. Try it, but no guarantee!
  • Budge-It Wise ($0.99): Curb your spending for the new year with this app that we hope will help you organize your money flow.
  • EZ Notes – voice notes ($1.49): Regular notes, voice memos, this app does everything to put your life in order.

Android mobile games temporarily free on Google Play Store

  • City Destroyer HD ($2.49): Forget all those city building sims out there that you played before. Here, how good are you at destroying a city?
  • wind vane ($1.99): In this space shooter simulation you must shoot down aliens while trying to save humanity from surefire extinction.
  • Shadow of Death: Dark Knight ($3.99): No, this is not a Batman game but a scrolling title in which you have to clear levels from countless enemies.
  • Peppa Pig: Party time ($3.99): Join Peppa Pig in this children’s game in which your child will lose himself for hours.

Temporarily free iOS apps on the Apple App Store

These productivity/lifestyle iOS apps are temporarily available for free on the Apple App Store

  • compress video ($1.99): No more storage space on your device? Use this app to compress any video files you need to free up extra storage space.
  • Quotemarks – Quote Notebook ($2.99): A cute little app that lets you create your own collection of quotes to come back to and use later.
  • SMS filter for Doge ($0.99): Use this app to filter and categorize text messages by mobile phone number, sender title and content keyword by its own algorithm.
  • Alfacast X video screen mirror ($4.99): Need an app to cast what’s on your monitor to a nearby smart TV? This app gets the job done with aplomb.

The iOS games are temporarily available for free on the Apple App Store

  • Poker Pop! ($0.99): Here’s a new way to play poker alone!
  • Fleeting journey ($0.99): A mysterious caper adventure that will get your gray matter rolling.
  • 7 planets ($2.99): A tricky logic riddle that will require you to really think hard before coming to a solution.
  • Wild Wolf Animals Simulator 3D ($9.99): Have you ever wondered what life is like for a wolf in the wild? This simulator should give you a little insight.
