FEAI has spearheaded a strong policy intervention enshrined in the Indian Government’s policy to formalize sport and related industries. With FEAI’s strong emphasis on esports development in each Indian state through regional chapters, working with Chemin Esports for the Tour will result in more robust and faster esports development in India. With FEAI’s current player reach and active player participation of nearly 1 lakh Esports players, this program will help FEAI and Chemin seek out raw but emerging Esports talent to be promoted into top Esports athletes. All participating players will be registered as Officially Recognized eSports Players with the FEAI.
Mr. Gagan Narang, President of Telugu Esports Association and founding member of FEAI said: “We designed this Campus Connect program as part of best practices from the sports universe. We had over 200 young participants in the Campus Connect program who are now recognized as esports athletes as they registered with the FEAI. This is the first stepping stone for an athlete to recognize his/her interest in the sport. The industry is expanding rapidly and the massive participation of youth from different colleges motivates us to develop more connected programs like this at grassroots level. Our youth have tremendous talent; You just need the right kind of exposure, and that’s the best way we can tell. This is the gateway for all eSports enthusiasts to showcase their talent and carve out a smooth career path in this industry.”
comment on the tour, Ishan Verma, Director of Chemin Esports said “We are pleased to start the 3rd tour of the nationwide Campus Connect program. As I said before, it is a unique eSports program being organized on such a massive scale to strengthen grassroots connections. We are all prepared to witness the growth of the eSports industry. I am pleased to be associated with FEAI and their support of the program will continue to drive engagement.”
Esports Tour covers tournament regions like Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Nagaland and all other states of India. Competitors must register on the FEAI website and each competitor will receive a certificate of participation, with winners being recognized by FEAI as esports athletes. This gives players not only recognition but access to FEAI events throughout the calendar year. The participants with the greatest potential get the chance to become part of the Esports Academy and train under the guidance of international trainers.
