My friend graduated from class 12 and wants to study fashion technology. She is artistically and manually gifted. Since she has financial problems, is this a good course? Will she be able to get a good job with a degree? Rahini

While most careers require a degree to become certified, fashion design does not. After completing her diploma, she can do an internship at some of the leading fashion and design studios and/or labels. There are many opportunities for students who are passionate, hardworking and committed. Creativity and perseverance count the most. After a year, she can find employment in manufacturing factories, export units, fashion industry or even start her own small business and sell her products online.

In grade 11, you must take physics, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science as core courses. Start preparing for JEE (Main and Advanced) so you can apply to the best engineering colleges. You might also consider the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST). If you get a good CGPA, you can apply to ISRO and join the Aerospace Engineering program. From there, apply for your next course at a university in the US for advanced study. Also check the requirements and qualification criteria to become an astronaut with NASA. In all of this, don’t forget to focus on your mental stability and physical fitness.
