FLOW offers customers free Internet speed boost | News

Communications and entertainment provider FLOW has boosted the internet speeds of its most popular packages, with around half of its customers benefiting immediately from the improvements.

Overall, FLOW has increased download or upload internet speeds by 30 to 300 percent on its most popular plans, which the company offers at no additional cost.

Subscribers to FLOW’s Ya’ad & Road Plus package on its fiber optic network can now access download speeds of up to one gigabit per second on their home internet, giving them an unmatched internet experience and reliability for work or entertainment. All other broadband customers are expected to have access to 1Gb speeds by the end of the year.

THE BEST VALUE

This is the second speed boost FLOW customers have received in the last seven months.

Stephen Price, Vice President and General Manager of FLOW, said that with the recent increase in speed, FLOW offers Jamaicans the best value for money in the market for high-speed internet and that this reflects the company’s continued commitment to fast, reliable and affordable Online offers signal access.

“These faster Internet speeds enable our customers to do even more and provide an enhanced user experience, supported by our ongoing overall network and technology upgrade,” said Price.

In fact, FLOW invests heavily in network implementations and upgrades for better service delivery, he said. Over the past five years, the company has invested more than $370 million to expand and modernize its infrastructure and deliver a more resilient and reliable network. This investment represents the largest injection of capital by an Internet Service Provider (ISP) into expanding broadband infrastructure across Jamaica as FLOW paves the way for the country’s digital transformation.

Since January 2022, the company has expanded its fiber network to over 200 communities and brought more advanced technology to over 50,000 homes. This is in addition to the 500+ communities and 200,000 customers the company has connected in the past 24 months.

Price noted that these initiatives are rooted in the company’s mission and Jamaica’s national goal of becoming a technology-enabled society.

“Our company’s legacy is and will always be advancing Jamaica through technological advances,” said Price. “In recent years we have made our technology and services even more accessible to more Jamaicans while offering the best value for money on the market because internet connectivity is so important to society. We are partners for the future and FLOW remains committed to providing the technology and innovation that enable national growth and positively impact lives.”
