The Good Morning America host returned Thursday in a taped segment in which the host interviewed the director and actors involved in Broadway’s “first revival of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson.”
As Robin explained on her Instagram: “I had the opportunity to sit down with the stars and director of the #PulitzerPrize winning play #ThePianoLesson.
She continued, “The star-studded cast, including @samuelljackson, @daniebb3 and @johndavidwashington, share what it’s like working together on #Broadway and what they’ve learned from their time on stage.”
The Instagram post also featured a photo with legendary screen actor Samuel L. Jackson, 74, his wife and the play’s director, Tony Award-nominated actress LaTanya Richardson, 73, BlacKkKlansman actor John David Washington, 38, and Grammy Award-winning actress Danielle Brooks, 33.

Throughout the segment, Robin highlighted the careers of all the stars involved, including Jackson’s role as Boy Willie during the play’s Broadway debut.
She also quizzed Washington about his famous parents, Denzel and Pauletta Washington, and how they prepared him to take on the role.
Washington stated that “teaching him how to pray,” helping him understand the importance of faith, and “inserting faith and prayer into everything” he does were the lessons that helped him prepare for his Broadway cast -Most influenced debut.
The segment was shared on the morning show’s Twitter account, where one fan wrote: “Who knew this segment would be inspirational! Thanks @RobinRoberts.”

HOLIDAY
Robin has been missing from GMA since December 16, 2022.
The station is absent due to vacation.
Her last day before her Christmas break was December 15, 2022, when she shared her final daily pre-show routine of the year.
The popular morning show broadcaster said “what an end” as she updated her fans on Instagram.
Robin is known for sharing prayers and motivational advice daily before going on the air.
Confirming that Christmas was coming she said: “It’s the season finale for GlamFam and what a way to end by hearing what you’re most grateful for. #ThankfulThursday.”
Robin continued: “You may have had a rough start. The odds were against you.
“But you know who’s looking out for you. He knows what you didn’t get, he knows who wasn’t in your life.
“He knows the pain, the betrayal and the hurt, so give him a call because he has a plan to make more of your life than you can ever imagine.”
I WILL BE BACK SOON
Fans needn’t worry though, as Robin is NOT leaving GMA, she’s just having some time off for the holidays.
The news anchor joined Good Morning America as a reporter in 1995 and has worked her way up the ladder.
She is now the show’s news anchor, alongside George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan at the desk.
ABC has yet to announce when Robin will be back behind the GMA desk.
However, as she is on Christmas break, she could return on Monday 2nd January 2023.
Her co-stars are also free and will return after the holidays.
