Indian Railways Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) mobile application comes in handy to make booking unreserved tickets easier and avoid queuing at ticket counters. The mobile ticketing application was developed entirely in-house by Indian Railways – Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) and is available across platforms – Android, Windows and iOS versions.

Booking tickets through the UTS mobile app will save commuters a lot of time at train stations. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the respective stores. The application has been widely recognized for its ease of use and customer experience, earning a 4.3-star rating on the Google Play Store. Over 10 million people have downloaded the mobile application from the Google Play Store so far.
How to Use UTS Mobile App Service:-
In order to use the mobile UTS application services, the passenger should have a good internet connection on the mobile phone. There are two types of ticket booking: paperless and paper. For paperless (Book and Travel) tickets, the smartphone should be GPS-enabled and the user should stay away from the station premises and the platforms.
When booking paper tickets (Book and Print), it is mandatory for users to take a printout of the same at ATVM/CoTVM kiosks or general booking desks at the station before boarding and starting the journey.
Registration Process in UTS Mobile Application:-
After downloading the UTS mobile app from the respective stores, the user has to register himself. For a one-time registration process, details such as cell phone number, name, password, gender and date of birth must be entered. After entering this data, the user receives an OTP (One Time Password) on the registered cell phone number. After successful registration, an SMS will be sent to the user’s mobile phone.

How to book paperless tickets with UTS mobile app: – After registration, the user needs to login with user relevant details in order to use the services. There will now be many options such as B. Normal Booking, Quick Booking, Platform Booking, Season Booking and QR Booking. For daily journeys one can click on “Normal booking” or “Quick booking”, while for platform tickets one has to click on “Platform booking”. For the normal booking, the user needs to select “Book and Travel” (paperless) and then fill in details like: departure from station and destination station. The user must also enter the number of passengers traveling and pay. After completing the payment, the ticket will be generated on the mobile screen.
Cancellation of paperless tickets is not permitted. A user can show their ticket to the TTE (Travelling Ticket Examiner) or TC by using the Show Ticket feature available in the app.
