Healium introduces Sleepium to improve sleep hygiene

Columbia, Missouri–(Newsfile Corp. – February 21, 2023) – US company Healium has expanded its offerings by adding Sleepium to its ecosystem.

Healium is a meditation and stress management tool that uses both VR, AR and Generative AI technology to help people achieve better mental well-being. It is based on the idea that by monitoring physiological signals such as heart rate and using the signals to control the visual and auditory experience, one can achieve a deeper level of relaxation and mindfulness.

The tool is designed for use with consumer-grade wearables, such as an EEG headband, which measures a person’s physiological signals, and the data is then used to drive elements of the visual and auditory experience. For example, when a person’s heart rate increases or the brain patterns become more stressed, the visual representation changes and helps bring the person back into a state of relaxation.

With the launch of Sleepium, the company is expanding its reach to improve people’s sleep hygiene. The idea was that a person would train their brain with Healium throughout the day and switch to Sleepium before bed without the wearable to aid in sleep training. The VR glasses are equipped with blue light filters.

It takes four minutes to run the Sleepium program via a VR headset before falling asleep to slow down a person’s heart rate and nervous system.

VR-guided bedtime meditation allows for an immersive approach to bio- or neurofeedback. Sarah Hill, CEO of Healium, stated that it’s “much more immersive than a flat 2D meditation app. It’s the future of meditation, the future of sleep hygiene.”

With an impressive list of organizations using these drug-free solutions, the company is now positioning its product in the consumer market.

The software is available via a subscription on the Apple, Google Play and Virtual Reality app stores, which includes both Healium and Sleepium. The company is currently offering a 14-day trial, allowing individuals a risk-free look at this technology.

The app compiles data for the user and creates a score that allows people to track their focused calm and feelings over time. If the user doesn’t have glasses, there’s even a mobile component that allows users to run the software via AR through their cell phone.

The launch of Sleepium marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth and commitment to providing innovative solutions for wellness and sleep hygiene.

“Sleepium is a digital drug that is uniquely powered by the body’s electricity. We’ve reimagined sleep hygiene with a new kind of bedtime story that teaches people the power of their own thoughts to heal themselves. Counting sheep has helped us since the Middle Ages and today, those sheep come to life in our own bedrooms, guided by our own thoughts,” concludes Hill.
