Mansfield aims to increase and maintain diversity in law firm leadership Enlargement of the pool of lawyers, lawyers for LGBTQ+, lawyers with disabilities and underrepresented racial and/or ethnic advocates serving as Senior Lateral aLegal vacancies, corporate leadership opportunities, equity partner promotions and permanent leadership positions. Businesses also need to create and publish job descriptions and Appointment/Election Policies for Leadership Roles.

To earn the Mansfield Certification, participating law firms must:
- Consider at least 30% women, advocates from underrepresented races and ethnic groups
Groups, advocates with disabilities and/or LGBTQ+ advocates for 70% or more of
Company leadership, committees and activities;
- Track and document candidate pool composition by demographic identity;
- Complete the 3-month, 6-month, and annual check-in surveys and data
collection requests during the review period; and
- Get involved in community building and knowledge sharing with participating companies.
