Losing Instagram followers isn’t a pleasant experience, but it’s nice to know which friends have left the fold. If you want to be updated on the status of your Instagram followers count, you’ve come to the right place. This tutorial shows how to see who unfollows you on Instagram.

1. Take the manual approach
This method works best for those who don’t have thousands of followers on their list. If yours is limited to a few hundred, the manual approach may be best.
This consists of simply going to your Instagram profile and checking your Instagram follower count. Take a screenshot on your phone (it can even be a long screenshot) so you can remember the number. Make sure you check regularly that this number stays the same.
But this technique doesn’t really answer one burning question: who unfollowed you? If you have a suspicion because — let’s say you haven’t seen any content from that person in your feed for a while, and you know they tend to post regularly — you can check to see if they’re unfollowing you.

From your profile, tap “Followers” to view the list of people who follow you on Instagram, then use the search bar at the top to search for a specific follower’s account to see if you can still find them can. If you can’t, they most likely will unfollow you.
If you have no idea who might have unfollowed you, you could get in the habit of taking screenshots of your followers list from time to time, e.g. B. once a month. Of course, this only works if that list is short, but even with a smaller list, it can become very impractical. You can compare the current list with the older screenshots and draw your own conclusions.
2. Use a third party app
If your Instagram followers list is a bit bigger or you just don’t have time for the manual approach, a third-party app could be the solution. But before we actually share our recommendations with you, we need to point out a few things.
First off, the Instagram API (Application Program Interface) is pretty restrictive for third-party app developers, so those apps can’t tell you which followers you’ve retroactively lost. To be precise, you can only see the changes to your followers list after you install the app. The followers you lost before will be shrouded in mystery forever.
Additionally, given Instagram’s propensity to change its API without warning, some of these apps could stop working at any time. Another thing to consider is that these apps are not authorized by Instagram, which could leave your account vulnerable to security threats.
Despite all that, if your curiosity far outweighs your instinct to be circumspect, you’ll be glad to know that there are some apps that still work reasonably well and can tell you when you’ve lost a follower (or more). Instagram. More importantly, they can point their finger directly at the person who decided to leave.

Followers – Tracker Insight
Followers is an iOS app that can track your followers and let you know when someone unfollows you.
Download and open the app on your iOS device. Sign in to your Instagram app. You will be taken to the app’s dashboard where you can view various statistics such as: B. Users you don’t follow and users you unfollow. To see who unfollowed you, tap Lost Followers. You can view the list of accounts from there. If you can’t see anything under “Lost Followers” and you’re sure you lost followers recently, click the “Reload” icon in the top-right corner. If it still doesn’t work, try exiting the app, closing it properly, and then reopening it. follow cop

Note: This app has not been updated since 2019. You’ll get a warning that the app is no longer supported when you open it for the first time. Despite this, the unfollow feature of the app still works flawlessly. Other functions may not.
Open the app on your phone. Sign in with your Instagram credentials. The app generates an interface for your account. It’s pretty sparse compared to the iOS alternative. Still, it gets the job done. Tap “Followers” to view your stats. In the new window, select “Recent unfollowers”. You’ll see a list of accounts that have recently unfollowed you. If you’ve followed them, you’ll see a “-” button so you can also unfollow them directly from this app.

3. Use an extension
Another way to find out who hasn’t followed you is to download the Chrome extension called InsTF.
Go to the InstTF page in the Chrome Store and click “Add to Chrome” to add the extension to the browser. Go to Instagram and log into your account if you haven’t already. Press the extension icon next to the address bar in your browser and select InstTF. A pop-up will appear and generate some statistics. Click the Lost Followers button to see who unfollowed you on Instagram. In the same pop-up window, a list will be displayed informing you who has unfollowed you on Instagram. If you think you are not seeing current stats, make sure you click the “Reload” button in the top right corner. Alternative reasons for showing a failed follower count
There may be other reasons why you are seeing a lower number of Instagram followers. It can’t be that they unfollowed you.
They deleted their account – they may have had enough of Instagram and deleted their account. To be sure, use the app’s search feature to search for that specific account that’s missing from your followers list. If you can’t find her, she may have deleted her account. They have blocked you – another possibility is that they have blocked you. In this case, they will disappear from your followers list and will not appear in search. To confirm your suspicion, you might want to ask a friend to see if they can find the other person’s profile. You can also do this yourself by typing “https://www.instagram.com/username” in an incognito browser window on a PC or mobile. It’s a bug – it could be due to a temporary bug. Try updating the app, wait a few hours, and then try again. If the follower pops up again, you don’t have to worry.

If your follower list has shrunk significantly, maybe it’s time to ask yourself if you’re posting regularly enough on your Instagram and upping your game in that department. Note that it’s important to return every follow you receive. People might get frustrated when they don’t get follow back and unfollow them altogether.
Instagram makes it easy to see when you’ve unfollowed an account that follows you. Go to “Followers” on your Instagram profile to view the list of accounts that follow you. At the top you’ll see the Accounts you don’t follow category. There’s also a Least Interacted With section, so pay extra attention to those so you don’t lose them. Also, make sure to engage with your followers by replying to comments and reaching out to them through comments or direct messages.
When someone unfollows you on Instagram, do you get a notification?
You only get a notification when someone follows you on Instagram. If someone decides to unfollow you or block you, they can do so silently.
Can I hide my followers from my profile?
This is not possible. However, if you want to prevent random people from seeing your followers, you can make your account private. That way, someone not previously authorized by you cannot see your followers.
