Here’s how to activate unlimited 5G network on your Airtel SIM card.
To activate a truly unlimited Airtel 5G plan, one needs a smartphone that supports 5G connectivity. In the Airtel Thanks app, look for the list of eligible devices. Note that Airtel’s 5G network is only available in limited areas and this offer only applies if you live in an area with Airtel’s 5G network coverage. Airtel currently offers its 5G network in 265 different cities across the country.
Next, you need to download the My Airtel app, a free application available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Open the app and sign in with your phone number. After signing up, click on the banner that says “unlimited 5G data” and you can access unlimited 5G data for streaming, downloading and uploading for free.
However, there is a requirement to get unlimited 5G data from Airtel for free. The company offers unlimited 5G data only to users who have an active prepaid or postpaid plan costing Rs 239 or more per month. However, if you top up on a Rs 455 or Rs 1799 plan, you will not be eligible for Airtel’s unlimited 5G data offer.
The biggest catch with this offer is that you can’t share your 5G data with a PC, laptop or tablet via mobile hotspot mode; the data must be consumed on the smartphone itself.
