Hit Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso is coming to an end for another season, or possibly forever, when the streaming service releases the twelfth and final episode of season three next week.

The show about overly optimistic, always cheerful American coach Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis), turned Premier League football manager, has been nominated for a ton of Emmys and is arguably the show that put Apple TV+ on the map.

The series’ penultimate episode, which premiered on May 24, ended on a cliffhanger when Ted revealed to Rebecca in his office that he had a “truth bomb” to deliver and that he may have decided to leave AFC Richmond.

Ahead of the finals, renowned Apple insider Mark Gurman revealed that Apple will reportedly begin selling Nike/Ted Lasso merchandise directly through its online store for the first time in early June. The AFC Richmond jersey and associated apparel are currently out of stock on the Nike website.

Just like our fellow fictional independent Trent Crimm, we have all the details on when and where you can watch the 12th and final episode of Ted Lasso’s third season, and if season three will be their last.

Will Ted Lasso Season 3 be the Last?

That’s the question everyone asks. Given the comments Sudeikis and other cast members have made in the past and the events of Episode 11, things seem to be heading in that direction. But Apple TV+ seems surprisingly reluctant to confirm whether Season 3 itself will be the last.

In March 2023, in an interview with Deadline, Sudeikis essentially confirmed that the show would be over. “This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we wanted to tell, that we loved to tell,” Sudeikis said. “The fact that people want more and are more curious than what they don’t even know – which is Season 3 – is flattering.”

“Maybe by May 31, once every 12 episodes of the season [have been released]They’re like, ‘Man, you know what, we got it, we’re fine.’ We don’t need anything anymore, we have it.’ But until then, I welcome the curiosity beyond what we’ve dreamed up so far,” added Sudeikis.

Similarly, Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent and is a co-writer of the series, said in an interview with the Sunday Times last June. When asked if season three was the end, he told the newspaper: “We write it that way. Three were planned.”

Fans are speculating that if Ted Lasso season 3 is to be the last, Apple TV+ could release a spin-off show set in the world of AFC Richmond, albeit without Ted Lasso himself. That’s yet to be confirmed, but we’ll keep you informed , when we hear more. You can currently watch all three seasons of Ted Lasso on Apple TV+.
