We’ve been looking for a good mouse that’s slim, light, and wireless for a long time. In the search we kept a few things in mind, namely slimness, light weight and wireless. While a wired mouse is good, an upgrade is always appreciated.
After looking at many options, we finally found the HP Z3700 Wireless Optical Mouse with USB Receiver (Modern Gold).
First, let’s talk about the design language of this mouse.
The design of this wireless mouse is pretty good, and the mix of gold and black certainly gives it a premium look. The mouse also has a blue optical light on the bottom and top that only lights up when you put the battery inside. Another key design feature is that you can build the receiver into the mouse itself, which is a nice feature since you don’t have to carry the receiver separately when you move around.
When we talk about the usability of this mouse, the role is a bit harsh. Another thing we noticed is that the compact size might not suit someone who just switched from a wired mouse. If your hand is used to a larger mouse, it may take some time to get used to it. However, the posability is quite good and you will enjoy working with this beauty. Also, you don’t hear the traditional clicking noises that a mouse makes.
Both right and left clicks feel smooth. It took us some time to figure out how to open the battery pack. Just a warning, you can simply remove the battery cap from the back. There is a small spot where you can pick it up.
What else do we get with this wireless mouse?
Along with this mouse you get an AA Energizer battery and a Bluetooth receiver.
Now let’s talk about the specifications of this wireless mouse
2.4 GHz wireless connection
Blue LED technology
1200 DPI optical sensor
Support Windows Vista/7/8/10 and USB port available
Prices and Availability
This beauty is currently available on Amazon at the time of writing this review for Rs 999, which is after a discount.
Our verdict:
Visually and haptically, this wireless mouse stands out as a nice option in its price range. However, the black finish seems more prone to scratches and the mouse roller was a bit hard. Apart from that, this mouse has good surface reading ability due to its Blue LED technology. We used this mouse with the HP Victus 16 and overall we really liked the design language and overall performance of this mouse.
