The new device is an ATEX/IECEx Zone 1/21 industrial smartphone with a high-performance chipset from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
It has a 6-inch display, a 48 MP camera, PTT functionality and an amplified speaker system.
The IS540.1 aims to be the world’s first ATEX and IECEx Zone 1/21 approved smartphone with widely supported 5G frequency bands and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
i.safe says that the Qualcomm QCM6490 IS540.1 offers users a future-proof mobile device with robust 5G and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, advanced camera quality and multimedia capabilities.
The high-performance chipset also produces enhanced AI and compute capabilities that can handle demanding applications without sacrificing power efficiency.
Other special features in the technical equipment are the 48 MP main camera for the highest image quality. The amplified loudspeaker should also guarantee clear and secure communication in noisy industrial environments and not only in PoC/PTT applications.
The updatable, current Android 12 operating system, in conjunction with the high-quality processor, enables fast data processing for the highest requirements in the industrial environment. This can extend to predictive maintenance, communication and security situations.
