After no suitable solution for the safe boiling of water could be found, the Kimos thermos has been created. Launched via Kickstarter, the project has already raised over $100,000 thanks to over 1000 backers, with the campaign still running for nine days. The Unique self-heating thermos provides a safe and fast way to boil water wherever you are and is powered by a rechargeable battery that can boil water in just three minutes.
Backer Early Bird pledges are available now for the creative project, starting at around $89 or £76 (depending on the current exchange rate)offering a significant discount of approximately 32% off the suggested retail price while the Kickstarter crowd funding is ongoing.
“During my military service, my family visited me at the base. It was winter and the weather was freezing. It was pouring rain and it was impossible to enter the building, so we sat under a small shed. My family brought a thermos of tea, but the tea was cold and there wasn’t enough tea for everyone. We were all very disappointed and then I figured I should buy a smart bottle that can boil water without being connected to an external power supply so I can bring them something the next time I visit.”
