With the Super Bowl in the rearview mirror, spring training has begun and the Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitchers and catchers are reporting to Camelback Ranch this week.
The 2023 World Baseball Classic contestants — Austin Barnes, Clayton Kershaw, Adam Kolarek, Will Smith and Julio Urías — should be in camp Monday. Position players participating in the WBC must report by Thursday, when Dodgers pitchers and catchers also hold their first official practice of spring training.
With the opening day of the 2023 season fast approaching, the Dodgers revealed this year’s social media slogan, “#HereToPlay,” on Twitter.

The Dodgers slogan “#HereToPlay” for 2023 follows “#AlwaysLA” used last year. As the 2022 MLB postseason began, the Dodgers’ marketing expanded to include “#WinForVin” in honor of the late Vin Scully.
The Dodgers head into spring training and the regular season with a talented roster, but face several questions. There has been a significant roster change, with mainstays Cody Bellinger and Justin Turner no longer on the team.
Turner’s signing with the Boston Red Sox in free agency has created a leadership void in the Dodgers’ clubhouse that manager Dave Roberts, Freddie Freeman and Chris Taylor say will fill a collective group.
There’s also a spotlight on Gavin Lux trying to take on the everyday shortstop to get back to his natural position. The Dodgers have had an all-star at shortstop since 2016, between Corey Seager and Trea Turner.
Dodgers 2023 spring training schedule
The Dodgers begin Saturday, February 25 with an away game against the Milwaukee Brewers in the Cactus League. They play their first home game of the spring the following afternoon against the Chicago Cubs.
There are 32 Cactus League games on the 2023 Dodgers Spring Training schedule, split evenly with 16 at home and 16 away. The Dodgers have two days off, the first on Tuesday March 7th and the next a week later on March 14th.
Their final game at Camelback Ranch is on March 25 against the Kansas City Royals.
Opening day of the 2023 season is March 30 when the Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks in a rare late-night start.
