DETROIT, March 20, 2023 – Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported combined total gross revenue from internet gaming and internet sports betting of $170.83 million in February. Revenue declined 8.8% compared to January results of $187.33 million.
Internet gambling gross revenue for February was $148.17 million. Internet gaming declined 3.6% compared to Michigan’s reported January gross revenue of $153.69 million.
Sports betting gross revenue was $22.66 million compared to $33.64 million reported in January, down 32.6%.
The combined total adjusted gross revenue from internet gaming and adjusted gross revenue from internet sports betting was $141.73 million, down 9.2% from January’s revenue of $156.17 million.
Adjusted gross revenue for internet gaming was $133.28 million, down 3.7% from January’s revenue of $138.32 million. Monthly adjusted gross revenue for internet gaming was 20.6% higher than adjusted gross revenue in February 2022 of $110.56 million.
Commercial and tribal operators reported a combined $8.45 million in adjusted gross revenue for internet sports betting. That was down 52.6% from January’s total of $17.85 million. Adjusted gross revenue for internet sports betting increased $12.4 million compared to a loss of $3.95 million in February 2022.
For the first two months of 2023, adjusted gross revenue for internet gaming totaled $271.6 million and adjusted gross revenue for internet sports betting was $26.3 million. Michigan operators reported $219.7 million in adjusted gross revenue for internet gaming and $15.2 million in adjusted gross revenue for internet sports for the first two months of 2022.
Total revenue of $344.9 million decreased 27.5% from total revenue of $475.6 million in January 2023. Total sales decreased 13.4% from the $398.4 million reported in February 2022.
February taxes and payments
The operators filed $26.9 million in taxes and payments to the state of Michigan in February, including:

The three Detroit casinos said they paid the city of Detroit $7.3 million in gambling taxes and municipal service fees in February, including:

Tribal operators reported making payments of $3 million to governing bodies in February.
