There’s a primal rule of the internet that eventually inspired a crowd-sourced investigation into a serial killer and a subsequent Netflix documentary. This rule simply states: Don’t Fâk with cats!
Little social media sensation Hasbulla Magomedov appears to be flouting this sacred tenant. I wouldn’t go so far as to call his actions animal cruelty â although many, many people on Twitter have done just that â but Hasbulla is definitely manhandling a visibly upset cat in the video above.
Maybe Mystic Mac wasn’t so wrong after all.
You may be wondering, “Why is this MMA website covering a meme?” That’s a valid question, but Hasbulla has managed to fully embed himself in MMA culture. He was in the corner of current UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev and actually signed an ambassador deal with UFC. One wonders if that means the UFC Code of Conduct applies to the diminutive superstar? It seems unlikely as it has been largely forgotten as far as actual athletes are concerned.
Perhaps even more precisely: Cats are predators. If I pissed off my cute fluffy sidekick Marshmallow enough to make him forget I’m the one feeding him, I’d surely end up fleeing this exchange covered in my own blood. It doesn’t sound like a fight that would end well for Hasbulla, who should probably challenge someone his own size.
