Targeting the senior market

This latest software update interferes with fall detection. The company says this makes the Moto 100 the cheapest watch on the market with a fall detection feature.

The function was specially developed for seniors. Statistics show that falls are the leading cause of home injuries among seniors. Their goal is to make the Moto Watch 100 a valuable tool for tracking the activity and well-being of seniors and facilitating real-time communication with their family members.

It’s worth noting that unlike its predecessors, the Moto Watch 100 doesn’t use Google’s Wear OS. Instead, it has a proprietary operating system called Moto Watch OS, which is specifically designed for health and fitness tracking and is compatible with Android 5.0 and above.

One benefit of this is that the Moto Watch 100 has longer battery life than many Wear OS watches thanks to its 355mAh battery, which can last up to two weeks on a single charge. However, it’s important to note that the Moto Watch 100 is not a Wear OS device.

Overall, the Moto Watch 100 is a budget smartwatch that offers a range of features for tracking your fitness and staying connected on the go. It’s a good choice for people looking for a versatile and affordable smartwatch.
