Subaru may use corny words in its car ads, but their products often speak for themselves. Vehicles like the Subaru Outback and WRX STi have their own subcultures and loyal followers. However, even the cheapest new Subaru models could save money with cheap insurance costs. Check out the 2022 Subaru Impreza, Forester and Crosstrek, the new Subaru models with the best options for affordable coverage.
Is Subaru expensive to insure?
Many Subaru models are inexpensive to insure, depending on factors such as the driver’s age, gender, driving experience and location. For example, three of Subaru’s models made Insure.com’s list of the nation’s cheapest cars to insure.
Of these Subaru models, the 2022 Subaru Forester 2.5L Wilderness was among the most affordable Social Security fares. The Forester fairing has a national median price of around $1,353. However, one of the cheapest new Subaru models is the Crosstrek, a crossover station wagon with standard all-wheel drive (AWD). Better yet, the Crosstrek 2.0L Utility PZEV isn’t that much more expensive on insurance than the Forester 2.5L Wilderness.
Which Subaru model is the cheapest?
The 2023 Subaru Impreza is the most affordable Subaru model in the brand’s lineup. It starts at around $20,815 for the 2.0i trim and goes up to $28,415 for the top-of-the-line Impreza 2.0i Limited.
Although the 2022 Subaru Impreza 2.0i is cheaper than the Forester, annual insurance costs more. According to Insure.com, the nationwide average for the 2022 Subaru Impreza 2.0i is about $1,412 for the hatchback and $1,470 for the sedan. Although the Impreza is cheaper than some of the larger, more expensive Subaru models, it still costs a little more annually for comprehensive insurance.
How much is the insurance for a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?
Owners should expect to pay around $1,395 per year for full coverage on their 2022 Subaru Crosstrek. Although this number reflects the national average, it is subject to change based on the driver’s age, gender, location, driving habits, and insurance carrier.
As a result, the Subaru Crosstrek costs about $42 more than the Forester 2.5L Wilderness for full coverage. That works out to about $3.50 per month. However, there is a difference between the cheapest Subaru model and the cheapest offering from a company like Mercedes-Benz. For example, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz A220 has an annual average full coverage rate of about $1,907.

How much will the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek cost?
The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek starts at around $24,870 for the entry-level 2.0i trim. There are five trims in the range, with the 2023 Crosstrek Hybrid at the top. Hybrid trim starts at about $38,070.
This makes the Crosstrek one of the brand’s cheapest cars to buy and insure. Of course, insurance rates depend on several factors beyond the driver’s control. For example, drivers cannot control age-related insurance costs.
