Officers Successfully Deploy BolaWrap to Help Restrain

TEMPE, Ariz., Sept. 20, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Wrap Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: WRAP) (the “Company”), a global leader in innovative public safety technologies and services, today released new agency bodycam footage provided by the LaGrange Police Department, demonstrating a successful result of deploying the BolaWrap® remote restraint device.

On September 16, 2022, officers at the LaGrange Police Department in Georgia responded to a call from a subject at a mental health screening facility. Subject refused to be transported to another facility. At that point, the subject made statements to officers at the scene that he would fight them and the county if they arrived. As the subject took a few steps toward an officer, another officer applied the BolaWrap to the subject’s thigh area, resulting in an immediate improved response from the subject. The subject was startled by the action, allowing the officers to safely take the subject into custody. The subject was then transported to another facility without further incident.

“Using the BolaWrap allowed our officers to take this subject into custody without injury, allowing officers to quickly handcuff him without escalating the violence,” said Lt. Eric Lohr of the LaGrange Police Department in Georgia.
