It can then manipulate the image transmitted by the eye, which includes using external images. The manipulated data is sent back to the brain. For example, this can allow changing the background, changing the color of the clothes, or adding a moving object to the image. All of this can then be seen as normal vision. Viewed images can be merged with background movies or replaced entirely, for example, by camera view.
