Veterans can now refill their prescriptions (Rx) with the VA Health and Benefits mobile app. Existing users must download the latest version of the app to access new features. If you don’t see the recipe feature in the Health tab after downloading the latest version, completely exit and reopen the app.
The Health and Benefits mobile app is VA’s official all-in-one, on-the-go, easy-to-use, accessible, on-demand app that allows veterans to manage both their VA health care and benefits services with the click of a button.
The addition of Rx Refill makes the VA Health and Benefits mobile app more useful and multifunctional for the 1 million+ veterans who have downloaded and are using the mobile app, and for those who will.
VA designed and developed the app with feedback from veterans, making it a simple, streamlined, and secure digital platform that lets you complete everyday VA tasks from an IOS or Android smartphone. It offers a more personalized experience and allows you to quickly and easily connect to VA to manage your healthcare and benefits needs.
Highlights of the new Rx refill function
VA Health and Benefits mobile app
The new Rx refill feature allows veterans to:
View your active and non-active VA-Rx history (up to 180 days); Filter and Sort Rxs View Rx Details Request refills on your refillable VA-delivered Rxs; View pending (recently submitted or pending) refills; and view tracking information until delivery for trackable refills.
The app offers a native mobile user interface like My HealtheVet’s Rx Refill feature. You can easily track refill requests submitted through the app or the My HealtheVet website and issued by a VA Consolidated Mail Ambulant Pharmacy by using the app’s Track Delivery feature.
This new feature means you can easily (with biometric face recognition or your phone’s thumb login feature) and securely log in to the VA Health and Benefits mobile app to quickly and securely manage your VA prescriptions from anywhere. If you don’t have a compatible mobile device, don’t worry! You can still access web-based Rx refills at VA.gov or My HealtheVet.
Note: VA is undergoing an Electronic Health Record (EHRM) modernization effort that may impact the operational readiness of the My HealtheVet and Rx refill feature on the VA Health and Benefits mobile app in your region. To learn more, visit the EHRM website.
Consolidated, fast and intuitive access
The VA Health and Benefits mobile app provides veterans with a single point of entry to access their most common VA health care and benefits transactions. You no longer have to figure out which website to visit or remember which password to use. VA’s Health and Benefits mobile app acts as a digital front door for veterans, families and caregivers, streamlining access to information and services and eliminating the frustration associated with siled technologies of the past.
“VA hit the nail on the head with this app. I can’t stress enough how useful it is. I used to have to go to the computer and navigate through different sections of the VA site, which wasn’t intuitive at the time. It’s so much easier now,” shared a user of the VA Health and Benefits mobile app.
