Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh has shared the internet with an edited image of himself along with 2022 FIFA World Cup winner Lionel Messi. Argentina defeated France 4-2 on penalties in last Sunday’s final to win their third title when Messi finally got his hands on the elusive gold trophy.
Singh was at Lusail Stadium to watch all the action as his wife, actress Deepika Padukone, came out with Spanish legend Iker Casillas to unveil the World Cup trophy before kick-off.
Both enjoyed Argentina’s victory from the stands. To commemorate Messi’s historic moment, Singh shared a Photoshopped image of himself alongside the PSG star on Instagram.
The original image showed Messi together with photographer Rohan Shrestha during the Argentinian star’s Byjus photoshoot. Singh added himself and captioned the image:
“Just because you know Photoshop doesn’t mean you turn me off 💁🏽♂️ @rohanshrestha”
The post drew hilarious reactions from fans in the comments, including notable figures like Siddhanth Kapoor, Sophie Choudry and Gaurav Kapur. Shrestha herself responded to the post with the comment:
“HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAH”
Singh’s post received over 600,000 likes in just under 24 hours of posting. Many of the actor’s fans also mocked his Photoshop skills with sarcastic comments.
Lionel Messi cements ‘GOAT’ status by winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup
Lionel Messi finally realized his dream of winning the World Cup with Argentina on Sunday while cementing his legacy as arguably the greatest player of all time.
The 35-year-old has been in charge of his team throughout the season, scoring seven goals in seven games, including two in the final against France, and providing three assists.
Despite all his achievements leading up to the World Cup triumph, there was a general consensus that Messi had to win the ultimate prize to seal his ‘GOAT’ status once and for all.
Now that Lionel Messi is writing his name among the world champions, there is little room for debate as he has now won all sorts of major trophies in his illustrious career.
The last 18 months have been particularly special for him at international level as Messi has gone from zero to three titles. Argentina’s Copa America win in 2021 earned him his first A trophy with the national team before moving on to the Finalissima Cup in June this year.
However, it was the World Cup that Messi craved and he has now ticked that box as well.
