Commenting on Saturday’s investigation into the death of well-known Bollywood actor and director Satish Kaushik, 66, Delhi Police said on Saturday that their investigation conducted so far has found nothing suspicious or foul play. According to police, at 2:00 pm on March 9, Fortis Hospital in Gurugram at Kapashera Police Station received a medico-legal case information stating that Satish Kaushik hospitalized dead from Pushpanjali in Bijwasan, Delhi was brought. “After that, Kaushik’s body was taken to Delhi’s DDU hospital for examination. According to the investigation conducted so far, Kaushik along with his manager Santosh Rai came to Delhi on March 8 and stayed at his friend Vikas Malu’s farmhouse in Bijwasan,” said Rajeev Kumar, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (Southwest). His manager, Santosh, told police they celebrated Holi until 3pm on March 8 and rested afterwards. “There was no party in the evening or at night. Around 9 p.m., Kaushik had dinner and after a walk, went to his bedroom and started watching movie clips on his iPad. At around midnight, he called his manager, Santosh, who was in the next room, and complained of discomfort and chest pains,” the officer said. He was then taken to Fortis Hospital in Gurugram, where doctors pronounced him dead.” During the investigation and pre-trial procedures, the place where Satish Kaushik was staying was thoroughly inspected and photographed. Nothing suspicious or objectionable was found at the site or in the deceased’s room, except for some medicines,” Kumar said. The police also questioned all witnesses accompanying Kaushik and took their statements. “CCTV footage from the site has also been confiscated and is being scanned. According to the autopsy report, the preliminary cause of death is cardiac arrest caused by coronary artery blockage associated with coronary artery disease, and the manner of death appears to be natural,” the official said. After that, however, a final call is taken to review the histopathological study report of the heart and FSL in relation to the blood. “Local police are in contact with Kaushik’s family, who have not raised any suspicions about his death. The investigation conducted to date has revealed nothing suspicious or foul play. However, the police process is ongoing,” the officer added.
