A single woman has caused the internet to split after revealing the bizarre reason she went out on a date.
Dafna Diamant pretended to go to the bathroom before running out and blocking their hinge date – over a piece of cheese.

In a viral TikTok video that’s been viewed more than 6.8 million times, Diamond, from New York, pokes fun at how her date refused to pay an extra $3 ($4.50) for a slice of cheese to pay for his burger.
“Why am I doing this to myself?” She asked.
She and her Hinge match had arranged a dinner date.

Once at the restaurant, Diamant’s hopes were high, telling her followers he looked nice and wasn’t catfish.
However, this changed when the waitress took her order.
“I said, ‘Okay, I’ll have the branzino (fish)’ and he said, ‘I’ll have the burger,'” she recalled.
He told the waitress how he would like his burger before she asked, “Would you like some cheese on that?”
The waitress informed him that it would be an extra $3.
“He said, ‘Okay, it doesn’t matter then,'” Diamond continued.
“And I wonder what the hell?”

Diamond was stunned by her date’s reluctance to pay an extra $3 for cheese.
But she was hungry and determined to eat, so she decided to see what happened.
Her date then made the near-fatal mistake of commenting on the current financial climate.
“He’s like, ‘Oh my god, you have to pay extra for everything these days,'” she said.
“And I’m like, ‘Yes, it’s New York City.'”
After dinner, Diamant was done with the date.
“I got up and I was like, ‘I’m going to go to the bathroom for a second,’ and I grabbed my purse,” she said.
“I went to the waitress and I was like, ‘Hey, I just want to pay the bill,’ and I just paid … and left the restaurant.”
But Diamond wasn’t done yet and texted him that she had picked up the bill.
“(I also said) ‘You should have gotten the cheese,’ and I blocked it,” she said.

Many of the 45,500 commenters said Diamant’s date did nothing wrong.
“My boy was just trying to talk,” one person wrote.
“The problem is that people are too quick to judge someone based on a comment. You didn’t even give him a chance because of a piece of cheese,” said another.
One person said it was “criminal” to pay an extra $3 for the slice of cheese.
But others defended Diamant’s reaction by saying: “That would have been the end of the night for me too.”

In a follow-up video, Diamant explained that she was turned off because he complained about money on the date.
“If I go on a date with a friend or to a restaurant, I won’t fight about money,” she said.
“I’ll enjoy myself and take care of the money later.”

Though he disapproved of his seemingly frugal actions regarding the cheese – and blocked his number – Diamond revealed a twist in the story.
She shared that the two were going on a second date.
“He laughed about it,” she said when telling him about her dismay.
“He’s a psycho like me – and we’re going to have fun,” she said.
