Social media goes nuts after Utah repeats as Pac-12 champion

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Utes are back-to-back Pac-12 champions after a 47-24 win over No. 4 USC in the conference title game in Las Vegas.

Social Media Reacts to Utah’s Repeat as Pac-12 Champion

TIED TOGETHER: After the championship win, Ute’s Rose Bowl are tied

USC quarterback Caleb Williams had letters drawn on his fingernails containing Utah-related profanity. The Utah Football Twitter account took this photo and “edited back” both hands.

Kansas City Chiefs coach, former son of Ute and Kyle Whittingham Alex Whittingham chimed in on Twitter.

A crazy statistic appeared on social media after the game from ESPN. USC is 64-5 over the past 10 seasons when leading by 14 points or more. Four of those five losses are against Utah.

Former Utah standout and current KSL Sports Zone pre- and post-game host Christian Cox was thrilled with his alma mater.

Former Ohio State star quarterback Cardale Jones tweeted that he’s a big fan of the Utes. With Utah beating USC, the Trojans will not make the college football playoffs. That means Ohio State has a good chance of taking last place in the CFP.

Kyle Whittingham said on the FOX set after the game, “Coach Day, you’re welcome.” Whittingham and Day met at the Rose Bowl last season when the Utes played Ohio State. The Buckeyes won by three points.

It was a great night for Utah State as the Jazz defeated the Indiana Pacers at Vivint Arena. The Jazz congratulated the Utes on their victory.

California native and Real Salt Lake legend Nick Rimando was happy for the Utes.

More details will be released Sunday, including who the Utes will face off at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2023.
