Imagine this… You’ve stepped out of your house, all wrapped up in scarves and woolen hats, to build a snowman and have a fun day in the snow surrounded by your loved ones. You come back inside and with a quick glance in the mirror you see flushed cheeks, ruddy lips and an overall glow you think you’ll never be able to recreate.

The look, inspired by the blush-like blush on the cheeks and nose, made the rounds on social media, with celebs including Kylie Jenner, Anne Hathaway and Hailey Beiber emulating the look. As winter draws to a close, you can still maintain the viral look with some tips from these experts.
Shradha Luthra, makeup and hair artist for luxury bridal wear says, “The cool makeup look is very similar to the no makeup look but with a frosty twist. The idea is to use minimal makeup and a touch of color on the cheeks, like when you’re really feeling the chill. Winters usually leave skin dry, so the cold makeup look is more about nourishing skin with the right skin prep that gives skin a plump, hydrated look. To start this makeup look, use it with a moisturizer and primer, then spot-cover with a concealer that matches your skin tone.”

To achieve this without standing in the cold winter air, apply a ton of blush to your cheeks and nose and blend it in, being careful not to over-dissolve it. Without overdoing it, apply a subtle dab of rose gold cream highlighter to the tops of your cheekbones. Use a red lip tint and dab with a tissue to add a barely-there hint of color to your lips and top it off with a colorless lip balm.

Ankita Corallista, Makeup Artist says, “The blush is the key element in this look. A cool pink blush that mimics skin flushing in cold weather or after a workout works best. Apply the blush to the apples of the cheeks with a generous hand and blend upwards towards the temple. Apply the blush across the nose as if to connect cheeks on either side.”

While you can choose to just use mascara and a baby wing liner to complete your eye look, Luthra suggests using a “frosty, silver, or monotone eyeshadow” to make eyes pop.
To give the lips a natural bite effect, Corallista suggests using a pink tint or lipstick and dabbing the center of the lip while blending the color towards the outer edges to soften the whole look.
