The Oklahoma Sooners are undeniable. No lead is too big. All it takes is a hit with the racquet and they can turn a game this way.
That’s what Kinzie Hansen did at the end of the seventh round. After the Sooners lost three runs, two on base and two outs, Hansen got her final shot when she fired a three-run bomb over the left field wall to decide the game and send it into extra innings.
In the ninth game, Tiare Jennings hit a solo home run to make Oklahoma 8-7, and Jordy Bahl closed the game with a shutdown performance to give the Sooners the win.
Oklahoma advances to the Women’s College World Series, setting a new record for most consecutive Division 1 softball wins with 48.
